The City of Irving is seeking applications from nonprofit organizations and certified Community Housing Development organizations that provide or intend to provide services for low- to moderate-income Irving residents.
Annually, the City of Irving receives from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grants, including Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) and Home Investment Partnership Grant (HOME) funds. Irving is also in receipt of Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES Act) Community Development Block Grant Funds (CDBG-CV) and Emergency Solutions Grant Funds (ESG-CV).
Mandatory training sessions will be held March 11 for interested organizations.
Applications are due by 5 p.m., April 1. No late applications will be accepted. Learn more about the these grants and their applications.
- CDBG funds are used to address a range of housing and community development activities.
- ESG funds address the needs of individuals and families who are homeless or receiving homeless assistance and to support additional homeless assistance activities.
- HOME funds are used to increase available affordable housing and must be used to purchase, construct, rehabilitate and resell single-family homes to income-qualified buyers.
- CDBG-CV funds can be used to address a range of housing and community development activities that prevent, prepare for and respond to COVID-19.
- ESG-CV funds can be used to address the needs of individuals and families who are homeless or receiving homeless assistance and to support additional homeless assistance activities that prevent, prepare for and respond to COVID-19.
