Irving and Grand Prairie Police are reviewing surveillance videos from the 24 Hour Fitness gym located at the corner of Highway 183 and Story Rd in North Irving.
31-year-old Gerardo Castañon-Banuelos was found dead Saturday morning in McFalls Park in the 1400 block of S. Carrier Pkwy in Grand Prairie.
Castañon-Banuelos was a regular at the 24 Hour Fitness and was working out Friday evening at around 9:30 p.m. Police said that he left with someone else because his vehicle was found in the fitness center's parking lot.
The case has been officially ruled a homicide.
According to family members, Castañon-Banuelos was a religious man and not not involved in vices. His wallet was missing when police found him and he was shot multiple times.
