It was announced at the NBA Technology Summit in Dallas that Wal-Mart Stores Inc., an Irving Chamber investor and the world's largest retailer, has reached an agreement with Live Nation Entertainment Inc. to sell tickets to concerts and other events at about 500 stores including those in North Texas.
Live Nation, the world's premier live entertainment company, plans to enter the Irving market with the opening of a state-of-the-art live music venue in December 2011. The 6,500 seat venue will be the centerpiece of the Las Colinas Entertainment Complex near the new Irving Convention Center (scheduled to open in December 2010) at Highway 114 and Northwest Highway.
