Man Killed in Parker County Vehicle Crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Friday afternoon.

At 3:35pm, emergency responders from Weatherford Fire Department, Parker County ESD 1, Parker County Hospital District EMS, and multiple law enforcement responded to 2400 block of Azle Highway (FM 730) near Rambling Trail for a vehicle crash.

Investigators say a 50-year-old man was driving an SUV southbound on FM 730 when he drove into the barrow ditch, overcorrected, and started to skid sideways across the roadway. A northbound pickup truck then collided with the SUV.

Extrication was required to free at least one of the trapped drivers. Paramedics called for an Air Evac Lifeteam to respond.

The 50-year-old driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as a resident of Watauga. The driver of the pickup truck was airlifted to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. He has been identified as a 33-year-old man from Azle.

Lanes of FM 730 were closed while crews worked the scene.
