The Garland Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Sunday, October 23, evening in the southbound lanes of LBJ Freeway (635) between Centerville Road and LaPrada Drive.
At around 6:20 pm Sunday evening, Garland PD and Fire/EMS responded to a crash at the given location. When emergency responders arrived, they located a driver who had been shot.
Paramedics transported him to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation.
Lanes of the highway were closed while Garland police investigated the scene.
UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Cesar Moreno-Pompa of Dallas. Garland Police believe this was a road rage incident and are looking for a dark-colored mid-size SUV.
