On December 1, 2022, at approximately 5:33 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call at the Family Dollar Store located at 1928 E. Ledbetter Drive. When officers arrived, they located Tenery Walker, 46, inside the back of the store with a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire and Rescue responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he died.
The preliminary investigation determined that the victim stepped outside and was confronted by an unknown Black male suspect, in his 20’s, whom the victim had previously asked to leave the store. The suspect immediately shot the victim and then ran from the location. The suspect remains at large.
This is an ongoing investigation that is documented on case number 215-723-2022.

UPDATE: Detectives obtained surveillance video of the suspect involved in the homicide. The first part of the video is the suspect walking from the back of the store. The second part of the video is the suspect entering the store.
UPDATE #2: Diavian Roberts, 22, was arrested December 3 by the US Marshal’s Task Force and charged with the murder of Tenery Walker.
