The Carrollton Police Department closed a portion of Hebron Parkway on December 13, 2022 in order to investigate the cause of a plane crash.
Just before 8:00 pm, a single engine aircraft (Mooney M20K) was coming in to land at Addison Airport when it crashed along Hebron Parkway near Province Drive approximately 3 miles northwest of the airport. Weather conditions at the time were cloudy and visibility was less than five miles.
Addison Air Traffic Control officials reported to emergency responders they had lost contact with the downed aircraft. Carrollton Fire/EMS and Police along with Addison FD’s ARFF Truck (Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting) responded to the scene.
Carrollton’s Medic 114 and Medic 117 crews transported the pilot and a passenger to a local hospital in stable condition. The extent of their injuries has not yet been released.
A portion of the plane did catch fire, but firefighters were able to contain it.
