Man Killed by Ex Girlfriend Outside Arlington Restaurant

A man in his 30s and his ex-girlfriend, 29-year-old Tamyiah Williams, had made arrangements for their child exchange at an Arlington, Texas restaurant.

Surveillance cameras captured a 23-year-old woman, Chanel Sherrod, arrive in a vehicle with Williams as the passenger.   The video shows Sherrod getting out of her vehicle and getting into a physical fight with the man.

While the two were fighting, Williams points a handgun and shoots the victim.   Williams and Sherrod got back into their vehicle and drove away.

Police officers responded to the location, the parking lot of Lisa's Chicken at 1601 W. Division, at about 4:45 pm and found the man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound.  The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives obtained arrest warrants for both women. Late Monday night, members of the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force located them at an address in Arlington and took them into custody without incident. Both were booked into the Arlington City Jail on one count of Murder.

The child was unharmed and is now being cared for by other family members.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
