The Texas Department of Public Safety says one person was killed yesterday in a two-vehicle crash south of Springtown.
At 2:16 pm, firefighters from Parker County Emergency Services District 1, paramedics from PCHD EMS, and multiple law enforcement officers were dispatched to Farm to Market Road 51 and Carter Road for a head-on collision crash.
A preliminary investigation of the scene revealed the driver of a southbound vehicle swerved into the oncoming lanes of traffic to avoid a turning vehicle and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle.
The driver of the northbound vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene by PCHD EMS paramedics. He has been identified as a 74-year-old male from Weatherford.
The other driver, a 36-year-old man, was transported to a Fort Worth hospital in stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
