On December 24, 2022, at 8:08 am, Weatherford Police Officers were dispatched to a reported stolen vehicle out of Georgia at York Avenue.
Responding officers located the vehicle and a pursuit ensued.
During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle was involved in an accident at Ric Williamson and Highway 180. Once the vehicle came to rest, the suspect exited the vehicle and opened fire on Officers and Troopers.
The officers returned fire and the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
No officers were injured during the incident.
The Texas Rangers are now investigating the incident.
