The smoke seen yesterday in Dallas was from a Warehouse Fire

A large plume of smoke could be seen for miles in Dallas on December 27, 2022.  The smoke originated from a three-alarm fire at an abandoned warehouse near Dallas.

Jason Evans, a spokesperson for Dallas Fire-Rescue, said firefighters were dispatched to the blaze around 5:30 a.m. The fire was well-advanced when the units arrived on the scene, and second and third alarms were issued for more equipment.

According to Evans, between 60 and 70 firefighters responded.  Evans also added that the warehouse at 9306 W. Jefferson Blvd. near the boundary between Dallas and Grand Prairie was reportedly an abandoned aviation manufacturing plant that was in the process of  demolition.

The fire caused the roof to collapse. No injuries were reported.

Fire department investigators said that the cause of the fire will be listed as undetermined due to the amount of damage and the lack of witnesses.
