Two Dead in Coppell Crash Caused by Speeding Driver that Ran a Red Light

The Coppell Police Department says two people were killed Thursday evening in a vehicle crash.

At approximately 7:20 pm, the Coppell Fire Department and Police Department responded to the intersection of W. Bethel Road and S. Freeport Parkway for a two-vehicle crash.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a maroon Honda Accord traveling northbound on Freeport Parkway at a high rate of speed ran a red light, colliding with a silver BMW sedan traveling eastbound on Bethel.

The driver of the Honda Accord was 20-year-old Selvin Cuyuch of Dallas is believe to have been fleeing another accident that took place on Interstate 635 just prior to this accident.

The silver BMW contained 5 occupants.  Two of those occupants, a 41-year-old female from California and a 69-year-old female from Plano, were both pronounced deceased at the scene. Coppell ambulances transported the other three individuals to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the accident, according to Police officials.

Selvin Cuyuch has been arrested on two counts of Manslaughter.
