The Fort Worth Police Department says a series of events led to the shooting death of an adult man.
At 12:20 pm, Fort Worth police officers responded to the area of Dicks Sporting Goods in Alliance Town Center for reports of a shooting. One gunshot victim was located at the scene and transported to a local hospital. He was later pronounced deceased.
Investigators say the man was involved in a vehicle crash with another driver on the roadway. He attempted to flee the scene, but the vehicle became disabled in the Alliance Town Center parking lot. The man exited his vehicle and approached the other vehicle while armed with a handgun. The other driver, also armed, fired at least one shot, striking the man.
The shooter has been identified and will be interviewed by detectives.
There have been no arrests made at this time.
