As previously reported,
On January 15, 2023, at about 2:00 PM, Dallas Police responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex located at 3303 Southern Oaks Boulevard. The preliminary investigation determined that a fight between two juvenile females occurred in the parking lot. One juvenile suspect retrieved a handgun and shot in the direction of the female she was fighting; however, the shot struck a male juvenile bystander. The male juvenile was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
The juvenile suspect ran from the location and was later taken into custody at a nearby apartment complex.
The age of the juvenile that died in this shooting investigation was 11-years-old. The age of the juvenile charged with his murder is 14-years-old. She is currently in the Henry Wade Juvenile Justice Center. The weapon was also recovered during the course of the investigation. This remains an ongoing investigation.
