Irving City Manager Tommy Gonzalez has earned the distinction of being named one of the top minority business leaders in North Texas by the Dallas Business Journal.
Gonzalez was recognized at the Dallas Business Journal's third annual 2010 Minority Business Leaders Awards luncheon held on March 25. Honorees were selected by a panel of Dallas Business Journal editors based on nominees' contributions to the community and to their individual corporate enterprise. More than 100 nominations were received.
"Under the leadership of Tommy Gonzalez, the City of Irving is in very good financial standing, and continues to be a premier address for residents and businesses alike," stated judges.
They were also impressed by the City's adoption of Lean Six Sigma, and the process improvements the city has made to ensure efficient operations and top level services.
Gonzalez is the only representative from a municipality to earn this elite recognition.
