On March 3, 2023, Italy Police Department, DPS Troopers, and the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in the 300 block of Harris Street for a stabbing incident.
When law enforcement officers arrived at the house, they located multiple stabbing victims. Three were deceased at the scene and two were critically injured. Both of the injured children were flown to Dallas hospitals.
All the victims were children.
A suspect has been detained in this case. According to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office inmate list, she is 25-year-old Shamaiya Hall. She was booked into the Ellis County jail late Friday on three charges of Capital Murder of Multiple Persons.
Law enforcement did not confirm whether the suspect is the mother of the children, but it has been widely reported to be the case.
