On Sunday, April 2, at 5:39am, multiple emergency responders from Carrollton PD and FD/EMS responded to the southbound lanes of I35E near PGBT for a major accident. Coppell FD assisted.
The initial investigation indicates that one vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of I35E when it collided head-on with two other vehicles.
The wrong-way driver and one of the other drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene. A third individual was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
There were no 9-1-1 calls of the wrong way driver prior to the collision, Carrollton police say.
Lanes of I35E were reopened around 10:30am.
