Police Seek Hit and Run Driver

On Tuesday May 4, 2010 at 8:30pm, police responded to an accident at Manion St. and Rochelle Rd. Upon arrival officers found that a 49-year-old female was mowing her lawn when a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed (eastbound Rochelle) attempted to turn north onto Manion St. The vehicle left the roadway, drove into the yard and struck the woman, causing her serious injuries. The vehicle did not stop and the driver steered back onto the roadway and immediately fled the area.

Working with evidence recovered from the scene and other sources of information, Investigators have determined the suspect vehicle to be a silver Toyota Camry possibly a 2002-2006 year model. The vehicle sustained noticeable front end damage in the accident. Investigators are in the process of contacting body shops/repair locations and are confident that with the public’s assistance the responsible driver will be identified.

To assist in their investigation, Irving Police are asking anyone with information to directly contact the accident investigators at (972) 721- 2761 or call the 24-hour non emergency dispatch number (972) 273-1010.
