Texas & Neighbors is a juried art competition featuring work in a variety of 2-D media from artists in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico and Louisiana. This year’s exhibition featured 74 works of art, selected from nearly 500 entries – the most entries in the competition’s history. Judy Melvin, a mixed media and lettering artist from Pittsburg, PA judged the show.
The exhibition is a partnership between the Irving Arts Center and the Irving Art Association. It will be on view in the Main Gallery at the Irving Arts Center through June 26. Admission is free.
The reception featured floral arrangements designed by The Chocolate Rose in Irving. The arrangements were inspired by the winning artwork and will be on view through May 29.

The Irving Art Association (IAA) has proudly sponsored Texas & Neighbors regional art competition since 1985. In addition, the association has offered workshops and classes on a myriad of artistic subjects for more than 52 years.
