A free course that will teach Irving seniors, age 50 and older, how to create and manage Facebook profiles is being offered at 2 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Heritage Senior Center, 200 S. Jefferson St. Seniors will learn how to send messages, upload pictures and manage privacy settings as well as reconnect with friends and family members on Facebook. Participants also will learn how to join groups on Facebook and how to avoid clicking on links that could lead to scams or computer viruses. The course is being sponsored by Home Instead Senior Care.
