Store Clerk of a Dallas 7-11 Fatally Shot

UPDATE:  The victim was identified as 54-year-old  victim, Nathaniel Ogbolu.

In a shocking incident that unfolded on Monday, June 19, 2023, a store clerk was shot and killed during an attempted robbery in the 400 block of N. Hampton Road. The victim, identified as a 54-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a local hospital by Dallas Fire and Rescue.

At approximately 6:08 a.m., Dallas Police Officers swiftly responded to a distress call reporting a shooting at the specified location. Upon their arrival, they discovered the store clerk, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the clerk's injuries proved fatal.

Preliminary investigations conducted by the Dallas Police Department revealed that the incident occurred when an unidentified black male entered the store. Armed with a firearm, the assailant approached the clerk and demanded money from the cash register. Before the clerk could comply with the demands, the suspect unleashed a barrage of gunfire, inflicting several gunshot wounds on the defenseless victim.

During the harrowing ordeal, the suspect also discharged his weapon at a witness present at the scene. Fortunately, the intended target narrowly escaped harm as the shots missed their mark. Following the brazen attack, the suspect quickly fled the area on foot, leaving behind a sense of shock and grief.
