On June 21, 2023, at around 9:35 am, Arlington officers and firefighters responded to the 2800 block of Bent Tree Lane after a report that a woman had been run over by a vehicle.
When first responders arrived, they located a 65-year-old Teresa Muthoni Hackworth lying in the roadway. She was transported to Medical City Arlington where she was later pronounced deceased from her injuries.
Through the course of their investigation, Arlington officers learned the vehicle belonged to the woman and she was driving it just prior to the accident. Witnesses told investigators she pulled into a driveway and exited the vehicle, then noticed it started rolling backward. She apparently tried to get back in the vehicle, fell, and was run over.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified her as a resident of Grand Prairie at 2502 Riverside Parkway. It is unknown at this time why she was at 2804 Bent Tree Lane in Arlington.
The crash remains under investigation.
