Verbal Fight Turns Fatal in Dallas: Suspect Charged with Murder

A heated verbal altercation on June 24, 2023, took a tragic turn when a man was shot and killed in the 1100 block of Hartsdale Drive near intersection of Ft Worth Ave. The Dallas Police swiftly responded to the distress call at approximately 4:50 p.m., only to find that the victim had already succumbed to his injuries. The deceased individual was promptly transported to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's office by the Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR).

According to the preliminary investigation, the altercation involved Alcides Solano, aged 51, and the victim. The disagreement escalated, leading Solano to allegedly draw a firearm and shoot the victim. The precise motive behind the dispute remains under investigation as authorities piece together the events that unfolded on that fateful evening.

On June 26, 2023, an autopsy was performed, confirming the cause of death as a homicide. The medical examiner's findings solidified the suspicions of foul play, and law enforcement authorities swiftly adapted their charges accordingly. Solano, the prime suspect in the case, is now facing a charge of Murder. Consequently, the initial Aggravated Assault charge, which was initially filed, will be dropped in light of the upgraded charge.

The victim was identified as 29-year-old Ricardo Gil Jr.

Following the completion of the autopsy and the subsequent reclassification of the charges, Solano was apprehended and is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail.
