On June 24, 2023, Dallas Police responded to a shooting incident in the 1600 block of Grigsby Avenue at around 9:50 p.m. Officers arriving at the scene discovered two men with gunshot wounds inside a car. Both victims were immediately transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner's office informed the Homicide Unit on June 27, 2023, that one of the victims, identified as 23-year-old Marcellus D. Alexander, succumbed to his injuries on June 26, 2023. The other male victim is reported to be in stable condition.
The motive behind the shooting and any potential suspects involved have not been disclosed by law enforcement officials. The incident is being treated as a homicide, and the Dallas Police Department's Homicide Unit is currently leading the investigation.
