In a devastating incident that unfolded on the night of July 21, 2023, a shooting in the 2100 block of Fairmount Street has claimed the life of a victim. The incident occurred at approximately 11:10 p.m., prompting a swift response from the Dallas Police Department.
Upon arriving at the scene, authorities discovered a gravely injured victim and immediately initiated emergency medical procedures. The victim was rushed to a nearby local hospital in critical condition, where medical personnel fought tirelessly to save their life.
Unfortunately, the victim's injuries proved to be too severe, and on July 23, 2023, they tragically succumbed to the wounds sustained in the shooting. The victim's identity has not been released pending notification of family members.
During the preliminary investigation, the Dallas Police Department identified and apprehended the suspect behind this heinous act. The alleged perpetrator has been identified as 47-year-old John Luster. He was taken into custody shortly after the incident and is currently being held pending formal charges.
The authorities have announced that John Luster will be charged with Murder in connection with this crime.
