On Sunday, July 30, 2023, at approximately 2:35 a.m., the Dallas Police Department rushed to the scene of a shooting at the intersection of Commerce Street and S. Pearl Expy. The incident has left the community shaken as two lives were lost, and another hangs in the balance.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Urgently, emergency medical services were called in, and the wounded individuals were rushed to a nearby local hospital for immediate medical attention.
One of the victims, identified as 22-year-old Mario Shontez Marchbanks, succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival at the medical facility.
The second victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, remains in critical condition.
During the course of the investigation, a third victim was identified at a separate hospital. This individual is reported to be in stable condition, and although wounded, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
As of now, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and no suspects have been apprehended.
