On August 2, 2023, at approximately 9:45 am, the Dallas Police received a report of stolen items in the 9600 block of CF Hawn. Responding officers arrived at the scene just before 10:00 am and located a male suspect inside a room.
During the encounter, the suspect discharged his firearm at the officers, prompting them to return fire. As a result of the exchange, the suspect sustained gunshot wounds and was subsequently taken to a local hospital, where he is currently listed in critical condition.
Fortunately, no officers were injured during the incident. Following the shooting, the Dallas County District Attorney's Office and the Office of Community Police Oversight were both notified and have responded to the situation. As of now, the investigation is ongoing, and further details are yet to be released.
