The Grand Prairie Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into a fatal traffic collision that unfolded on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, in the 1000 block of S. Belt Line Road Near the Irving border (just south of W Shady Grove Road).
At Approximately 9:45 p.m., a Nissan passenger car traveling north on Belt Line Road struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the roadway. The male did not use the designated crossing path when he entered the roadway and was struck. The male was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The identity of the deceased will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office once next of kin have been notified.
The driver of the Nissan remained at the crash scene and is cooperating with investigators. No criminal charges are expected to be filed.
This collision remains under investigation.
