The Fort Worth Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into an accident that occurred overnight at the intersection of SW Loop 820/I20 and McCart Avenue.
The incident took place around 2:31 am when emergency services including the Fort Worth Fire Department, Fort Worth Police Department, and MedStar EMS were summoned to the scene. A vehicle had crashed into a gas station parking lot situated in the 2500 block of SW Loop 820 and McCart Avenue.
According to authorities, preliminary information indicates that the driver was traveling westbound on SW Loop 820 at an excessive speed when the collision occurred.
The driver was trapped inside the vehicle, and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
