On Sunday, August 27, 2023, at approximately 5:15 a.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to a hit and run crash in the 3600 block of S SH 360 near Mayfield Road.
Investigators believe a passenger vehicle was stalled in the outside lane facing southbound when a pickup truck struck the car, causing the driver to be ejected. The 33 year-old driver of the stalled vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene.
The pickup truck left the crash location without stopping. An out of agency, off-duty police officer followed the truck. A Mansfield Police officer was able to stop the vehicle and contact the driver.
Arlington Police arrested the driver of the pickup truck and charged him with Intoxication Manslaughter and Failure to Stop and Render Aid.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
