On September 4, 2023, at approximately 11:30 AM, Dallas Police officers responded to a shooting incident in the 4700 block of Denley Dr near S. Lancaster Rd in Cedar Crest. According to preliminary investigations, the incident involved an argument between two individuals that tragically escalated into violence.
The victim in this case has been identified as 51-year-old Absolom Cobbs. During the altercation, Cobbs sustained gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire Rescue personnel arrived at the scene to provide medical assistance. However, Cobbs succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The suspect in the shooting has been identified as 45-year-old Damien Walker. Following the incident, law enforcement officers took Walker into custody. He now faces a charge of Murder in connection with the fatal shooting.
