Fire at Fort Worth Apartment Complex Displaces Residents and Injures Firefighters

On the evening of September 12, 2023, shortly after 9:00 PM, the Fort Worth Fire Department responded to multiple emergency calls reporting a fire at the Borough apartment complex located in the 5900 Block of Greenspoint Drive.

Upon arrival, firefighting crews were met with a chaotic scene as heavy flames engulfed multiple units within the complex. Engine 20, in the midst of battling the blaze, made a heroic rescue, pulling two individuals from their endangered home. Once safely outside, other team members immediately provided crucial medical care to the rescued residents.

In total, three individuals required medical attention as a result of the fire. Two of the victims were transported to local hospitals for further treatment, while the third received on-site medical care. Additionally, the firefighters also managed to rescue a dog from the burning building

The battle against the blaze lasted for approximately an hour before firefighters successfully brought it under control. The fire impacted a total of 12 units within the apartment complex, leaving eight people displaced from their homes.

The American Red Cross Greater North Texas was on scene providing immediate disaster assistance to these families.

During the firefighting efforts, two firefighters sustained minor burn injuries but are expected to recover.

The cause of this fire is currently under investigation.
