Denton Man Sentenced to 67 Years in Prison for Murder of Girlfriend

In a verdict rendered on September 27, 2023, a Denton County jury has found Tyrone Oliver guilty of the offense of Murder for strangling his girlfriend.

Today, that very same jury has sentenced Oliver to 67 years in prison.

ADAs Michael Graves and Sarah Wood handled the prosecution on behalf of the State, while Detective Guy Curtis from the Dallas Police Department carried out the investigation.

The Denton County Criminal District Attorney's Office gave special recognition to DA Victim Intervention Specialists Kizzy Thomas and Lydia Pluscht, as well as DA Investigator Bill Cruce for their contributions to the case.
