An accident occurred late last night on northbound IH-35 at the northbound Spur183 split, involving a collision between an 18-wheeler and a vehicle. The incident, which happened at 11:55 PM, led to a complete shutdown of all lanes of traffic.
Emergency response teams from Dallas Fire Rescue and Dallas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, where they found a vehicle flipped over, and one person tragically lost their life in the crash. The identity of the deceased individual has not been released at this time.
To facilitate the response and conduct an investigation, all traffic was diverted to the northbound IH-35 exit to Commonwealth. The closure caused significant delays for commuters throughout the night. Lanes were finally reopened at 4:35 AM, allowing traffic to resume its normal flow.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
