In the early hours of Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at around 4:03 a.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to an incident in the 1200 block of Avenue H East Street. According to investigators, a 2009 Ford Focus was traveling in the westbound lanes when the driver lost control. The vehicle mounted a curb attached to the median and collided with a city sign before striking a tree, bringing the car to a halt.
The driver of the Ford, a 49-year-old male, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The victim was identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner as 48-year-old Juelin Devon Eddington of Overland Park, Kansas, but originally from Grand Prairie.
Preliminary investigations suggest that speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash. The authorities continue their inquiries into the incident. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will officially identify the deceased individual after the next of kin have been notified.
