Child Struck by Two Vehicles in Hit-and-Run Incident on LBJ Service Road in North Dallas

In the early hours of October 16, 2023, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Dallas Police responded to an accident call in the 7600 block of Lyndon B Johnson Service Road. Preliminary investigations have revealed a distressing incident in which a 7-year-old girl was struck by two vehicles, with one driver fleeing the scene. According to police officials, the family of the child was staying at a hotel along the highway while their apartment was undergoing renovations and the child had wondered onto the service road.

According to initial findings, the incident occurred when a driver of a white vehicle was traveling eastbound in the 7600 block of Lyndon B Johnson Service Road and collided with the child, who was lying in the roadway. Further investigation indicates that the child had already been hit by an unknown vehicle before being struck by the white vehicle.

The driver of the white vehicle involved in the accident remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with law enforcement. Meanwhile, detectives are working to identify the driver and the vehicle that initially struck the child and left the scene.

Due to the age of the child, the name of the child will not be released.  This investigation is ongoing and is documented on case numbers 185220-2023 and 185221-2023.
