Denton Police Seek Public Assistance in Hit-and-Run Investigation

The Denton Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying the driver and locating the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian seriously injured on Monday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Monday, October 23, in the 2500 block of N. Elm Street in North Denton. Officers were dispatched to the scene in response to a major crash call, where they discovered an injured woman on the sidewalk. Traffic investigators determined that a vehicle had struck the woman and subsequently fled the scene.

Based on evidence recovered from the scene, authorities have tentatively identified the suspect vehicle as a black 2010-2013 Kia Optima. Notably, the vehicle is missing its passenger side mirror, and there may be additional damage from the crash.

The victim, who sustained serious injuries, was promptly transported to a local hospital. She is expected to recover from her injuries.
