Irving installs wayfinding signage in time for Super Bowl activities

Irving residents and visitors will notice new signage to help identify key locations and provide a more efficient method of traveling throughout the city. The wayfinding signs were installed in time for Super Bowl events in the area.

Twenty-nine 16-foot signs have been placed throughout the city highlighting various venues. The top portion of the sign features the city logo. The poles of the signs are black and have two different designs, one modern and another traditional design for the Heritage District.

The signage helps promote tourism, emphasize Irving as a destination, enhance urban design, reinforce community identity, and improve traffic flow and roadway safety.

“With the new convention center and DART Orange Line, these signs provide a great way for visitors and residents to efficiently get where they want to be in Irving,” said Melissa Baker with Intergovernmental Services.

In addition, the Transportation Department reviewed existing signs on seven major streets earlier this year and removed more than 300 redundancies. An additional 78 signs will be removed following the installation of the wayfinding signs.
