Informational meetings are scheduled for residents and property owners to learn about the proposed State Highway 183 Zoning Overlay District at 1 and 6 p.m. Jan. 5 at Irving City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd. It will not be necessary to attend both meetings.
The expansion of State Highway 183 offers a unique opportunity for the city to improve standards for development and redevelopment along the major thoroughfare. The proposed Overlay District is intended to provide regulations for new development and redevelopment along the State Highway 183 corridor both during and after its reconstruction.
After the informational meetings have been completed, formal public hearings will be scheduled before the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council. All affected property owners will receive a notice of these public hearings and will have an opportunity to speak before the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council.
