Irving Police received a call reporting a disturbance at 3417 W. Country Club Drive at 1:40 a.m. When officers arrived and entered the residence, they found an adult male covered in blood.
Also inside the residence was an adult female who had sustained a knife wound. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. The male was taken into custody without incident and is being held at the Irving Jail. There was a 3-year-old male also inside the residence but he was unharmed.
The suspect has been identified as 28 year-old Francisco Martinez of Irving and he is in custody for Murder. The identity of the victim is not being released at this time. The victim and suspect appear to have been cohabitating together but their relationship is not known, nor is the relationship to the child clear at this time.
The investigation is in the initial stages so limited information is available at this time.
