The Dallas Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in an ongoing investigation into a deadly hit-and-run incident that occurred in the early morning hours of November 24, 2023. The incident took place in the 3800 block of Samuell Boulevard in East Dallas, just east of Valley Glen Drive.
At approximately 4:30 a.m., Dallas Police received a call and responded to the scene. The preliminary investigation revealed that 31-year-old Jose Antonio Herrera-Hernandez was walking eastbound in the 3800 block of Samuell Blvd. when he was struck by a motor vehicle. Herrera-Hernandez succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect driver involved in the incident failed to stop and fled the scene, continuing eastbound on Samuell Blvd. without rendering assistance to the victim.
As of now, there is no available information on the identity of the suspect or details about the suspect vehicle.
