Irving Cares, a non-profit which serves Irving families in crisis, has announced it has received a $25,000 donation from the Dallas Mavericks Foundation - the charitable arm of the Dallas-based professional basketball franchise. Funding from the Mavs Foundation will go towards the purchase of food items, milk and hygiene products. The donation is much-needed according to Irving Cares Executive Director, Teddie Story, who reports that Irving Cares fed 11,410 individuals with 32,325 days of groceries in the fiscal year ending 2010, with nearly half of those served being children and youth under the age of 19.
