On December 7, 2023, at approximately 8:40 pm, officers responded to a shooting call in the 2700 block of Matterhorn Dr in East Dallas. Upon arrival, they discovered a man who had been shot inside a residence. Dallas Fire Rescue promptly responded to the scene, but despite their efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicated that the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Vincent Michael Corral, unintentionally shot the victim while handling a handgun. Following the incident, Corral was taken into custody by law enforcement. He has been charged with Criminal Negligent Homicide.

The victim’s identity is not being released pending family notifications.
