On the evening of December 8, 2023, at approximately 7:00 pm, emergency responders from Dallas Fire Rescue and the Police Department rushed to the scene of a major accident in the 5900 block of University Hills Blvd near I-20 highway.
According to preliminary investigations, a male driver and a female passenger were traveling southbound on University Hills Boulevard. As they attempted to turn left into a shopping center parking lot, a second vehicle traveling northbound on University Hills Boulevard collided with their vehicle at a high rate of speed.
The male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by Dallas Fire Rescue. The female passenger, in critical condition, was transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
The suspected driver of the second vehicle, also in critical condition, has been taken to a local hospital. Authorities plan to charge the individual with Intoxication Manslaughter and Intoxication Assault.
The investigation is ongoing.
