Zestfest to Benefit Irving Cares...

ZestFest 2011 will be held January 28 thru 30 and is the Grand Opening Event for the brand new Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas. This event brings together the spiciest exhibitors and products from around the country. Hosted by Chile Pepper Magazine, your $10 admission entitles you to cooking demos by celebrity chefs, live music, interactive contests, and thousands of bold food samples. Children under 10 are free when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. Tickets may be purchased at the Convention Center Box Office. The event runs January 28 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.; January 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and January 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“The Food Pantry at Irving Cares provides nutritious groceries for families in need, serving an average of 560 families per month. Each order holds 85 pounds of food, so we need nearly 48,000 pounds food each and every month. Your donation at ZestFest can help us meet those needs, as well as helping the Convention Center open with a bang,” said Teddie Story, Irving Cares Executive Director.

“As one of the owners of Spicy Food Productions producers of ZestFest 2011, we are delighted to partner with Irving Cares and know that the entire community will come forward to help your neighbors in need. There will be drawings for prize items for those who donate, as well as a grand prize drawing of waterless cookware,” said Pam Betz.

In families without adequate financial resources, people typically go without basic human needs, such as food. The consequences are lasting and jeopardize children’s long-term health, employment and earnings potential, perpetuating the cycle of poverty. For more information visit http://www.irvingcares.org.
