A shooting incident on December 7, 2023, in the 700 block of Ft Worth Avenue in West Dallas has left a community in mourning. At approximately 5:05 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call, discovering a 16-year-old victim upon arrival. The preliminary investigation revealed the teenager had sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
On December 9, 2023, the young victim succumbed to his injuries, prompting the case's reassignment to the Homicide Unit.
