Investigators with the Irving Police Department arrested Darwood Kellett (44) of Irving, and Terry Cosper (43) of Irving, for the theft of a dog (Wylie) from the Irving Animal Shelter. Wylie had been stolen from the shelter on Saturday Jan. 15th.
A Media Release asking for the public’s assistance was issued and investigators received an anonymous tip as to the whereabouts of Wylie. Based on information received from the tip investigators were able to obtain Arrest Warrants for Mr. Kellet and Ms. Cosper. The suspects were arrested in the 3400 Block of West Shady Grove in Irving, at about 1:40 PM without incident.
They have both been charged with Theft under $20,000.00 and are currently being held at the Irving City Jail with a bond amount of $10,000.00. Below are book-in photos of the suspects.
Wylie was located at another location and has now been returned safely to the Irving Animal shelter.
