In the early hours of the morning at approximately 4:25 am, emergency responders in Arlington rushed to the scene on the eastbound lanes of I-30 near Fielder Road following reports of a pedestrian being struck.
Upon investigation, authorities determined that an adult woman was seated in the far right lane of the highway. Unfortunately, several eastbound drivers were unable to avoid colliding with her after spotting her too late.
The drivers involved in the incident promptly stopped, dialed 911, and fully cooperated with investigators. No criminal charges are being filed against them in connection to the incident.
The reasons behind why the woman was in the roadway remain unclear, and the investigation is ongoing. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will officially identify the woman once her next of kin have been notified.
