Over the weekend, Forest Hill Police responded to a reported accident with injuries at the intersection of Mansfield Highway and Hartman Rd. Witnesses at the scene reported that a blue Dodge had run a stop sign on Hartman, resulting in the collision.
According to eyewitnesses, two males fled the scene on foot immediately after the accident. Forest Hill Police officers, upon inspecting the Dodge, found blood on the passenger side airbag, suggesting possible facial injuries.
In an effort to locate the individuals, officers conducted a search of the surrounding area and successfully located two males matching the provided descriptions. Upon contact, it was discovered that one of the males had facial injuries consistent with the blood observed in the Dodge, and he was found in possession of Dodge keys that matched the vehicle involved in the accident.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to attend to the injuries of a female involved in the accident, who was subsequently transported by Medstar for medical care. The two males, however, declined medical treatment.
Both individuals were arrested by Forest Hill Police on charges related to the accident causing injuries. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
