In the early hours of December 16, 2023, at approximately 5:25 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting incident near E. RL Thornton Freeway (eastbound) and Exit Ramp 46, just prior to the Hardwood Street Bridge.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered that a man had been shot while driving his vehicle. In the aftermath of the shooting, the victim lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a collision with a nearby sign.
The man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased individual is pending confirmation by the Medical Examiner's Office.
